How do I manage my job vacancies?

To manage your job vacancies click on Manage Jobs in the Employers menu at the top of the page.

The page will show a list of all your job vacancies including Job Title, Date Posted, and Expiry Date. From this page you can edit job listings, mark job listings as ‘Filled’ or delete job listings (warning: when deleting a job listing you will lose all the online applications related to it).

This page also shows you the number of job applications you have received for every vacancy. By clicking on the number of applications you will be able to view a list of job applications received for that vacancy. You can then change the status of the application (e.g. Interviewed) and privately rate the applicant by pressing the “Edit” button under each application. You can also input private notes about the applicant. In this way you can manage the whole recruitment process through MaltaJobPort.com


 

How do I post a job vacancy?

In order to post a job vacancy you must first be logged in with an employer account (refer to “How do I register as an Employer” in the FAQs.

To post a job vacancy click on Post a Job in the Employers menu at the top of the page. This will take you to the post a job form. Select between Free Job Listing and Featured Job Listing and click on the ‘Listing Details’ button. (Note: Featured Job listings are always shown at the top of the results screen when job seekers search for Jobs and randomly show in the ‘Featured Job’ section on the home page. Furthermore, we use targeted advertising on social media for Featured Jobs listings).

On the following screen, it is very important that you complete all the fields properly so that the vacancy advert is as informative and appealing as possible to Job Seekers. Do not type your email address in the job description field, but type this in the ‘Application Email’ field. This will ensure spam bots will not harvest your email address from our website for spamming purposes. Any email address posted in the job description field will be removed without prior notice.

The Company Details, will only need to be filled in once when creating the first job advert and will be automatically populated when you post your next job listing (although these can be amended).

 


 

 

 

How do I receive/view applications for my job vacancies?

When you create a job vacancy you will receive candidate applications directly via email. You may also manage the whole recruitment process online through Maltajobport.com

Applications you receive can be viewed online by clicking Manage Jobs on the Employers menu at the top of the page. For further information on managing your vacancies check “How do I manage my job vacancies?” in the FAQs.


 

 

How do I register as an Employer?

To register as an Employer, click on the Register button on the menu on the top of the page to go to the sign up page.

Type a username you would like to use to login to MaltaJobPort.com and enter your email address and password.

It is important that you select “I’m an employer looking to hire” in the About You drop down list.

Once you press the “Register” button your account will be created and you will receive a confirmation email.

Job Seekers

How can I register as a Job Seeker?

Click the Register button on the menu on the top of the page to go to the sign up page.

Type a username you would like to use to login to MaltaJobPort.com and enter your email address and password.

It is important that you select “I’m a candidate looking for a job” in the About You drop down list.

Once you press the “Register” button your account will be created and you will receive a confirmation email.

When creating an account with MaltaJobPort.com you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.


 

How do I apply for a job?

After clicking on a job in the job search page (For more information on how to search for a job check the “How do I search for a job?” in the FAQs), you will be taken to the job details page.

The job details page gives you all the information about the job vacancy, including information about the company advertising the job.

To apply for a job, click on the “Apply for Job” button. This will open a form wherein you type your Name and Surname, email address, covering message to the employer. Also make sure to upload your CV. We recommend that you upload your CV in PDF format as in this way you will make sure that employers will be able to view your CV the same way that you see it on your computer. When done press the “Send Application” button and your application will be sent to the employer. You will also receive a confirmation email that your application has been sent.


 

How do I create Job Alerts?

Job alerts are there to help you keep updated with any new Jobs posted on MaltaJobPort.com that meet your criteria. Yo can create multiple alerts matching different criteria.

To create or modify a Job Alert click on My Job Alerts in the Job Seekers Menu at the top of the page. 

Any Job Alerts are shown on the page and you can Edit, Disable or Delete any alert.

To create a new alert click on Add Alert. This will bring up a form so that you create your new alert. Give the alert a name, optionally enter any keywords (be careful not to be too specific as this might restrict the vacancy alerts you will receive) and any other optional criteria you like to set. Once done click on the Save Alert button. This will take you back to the My Job Alerts page from where you can test the alert by clicking on “Show Results” or “Email” links.

Job Alerts are sent to you via email according to the frequency that you select. These are grouped in one email so that you will not receive endless emails in your mailbox.


 

How do I create my Resume (CV)?

This is an optional feature and you you can still apply for new jobs without having an online Resume. For those actively seeking employment or Freelancers, it is highly recommended that you create on online Resume to improve your chances for Employers to contact you about potential opportunities.

To create or modify a Resume (CV) click on My Resume, in the Job Seekers Menu at the top of the page.

If you have already created a Resume, it will be displayed and you will be able to edit it or delete it. You may also click “Hide” so that the Resume will not be visible to Employers.

You may add a Resume by clicking “Add Resume”. This will take you to the Create Resume Page. Complete the form making sure all the non-optional fields are completed. Although some fields are optional, it is recommended that you fill-in as much details as possible as this gives you a better chance for potential Employers to contact you. You are also able to upload your CV (we recommend PDF format).


 

How do I search for Jobs?

To search for Jobs click on Jobs on the menu on the top of the page.

The job search page returns all current jobs, but, you may select a keyword to filter jobs containing that keyword. You may also select the region, that is Malta or Gozo and Category, e.g. Administration and Clerical. You may also choose the Job Type such as Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Freelance or Internship.

The results will show the jobs that match your criteria including the Job Title, Company and region. Clicking on a job will take you to the job details page from where you can find further details about the job and also apply for the job. How do I view my job applications?

To view the job applications you have submitted, click on My Job Applications in the Job Seekers Menu at the top of the page.

From this screen you will be able to view the applications you have submitted including the Job Title, Date when you applied, the application status (depends if the Employer updates this) and the message you sent to the Employer.

Furthermore, whenever you apply for a job, the Job is marked as “Applied” in the Job Search Page and when viewing the Job Details page.
